How it works!

  1. Open your Inbox

  2. Click the switch to Active → to start receiving messages

    • Flip the switch to turn off SMS

    Activate inbox

  3. Select an inbound message

  4. Read your messages → and Reply as needed

  5. Use pre-defined replies to speed things up → then click Send

What if a thread triggers an issue requiring action?

  1. Click the Create Record Arrow → and start a new incident Record

  2. Pick a Form → ex. Issues

SMS Set Up

Setting up an SMS system with Guard IQ couldn't be easier. We'll do it for you! Don't worry about all the technical integrations, Forms or Dashboards. It's all covered.

That said, SMS implementations require careful planning, so we'll need to learn a few things about your needs:

  • A. Target Audience → Who will benefit from SMS?

    • Patrons, guests, & fans
    • Team Members & Staff
    • VIP Guests
    • Other
  • B. Distribution → How do you want to share your SMS number?

    • Printed/posted
    • QR Code
    • NFC tag
    • Other
  • C. Locations → How many locations are you planning on?

  • D. Expected Volume → How many messages do you expect for:

    • Various event types
    • Ongoing operations

What we'll do

Guard IQ will set your system up with Twilio — the popular, scalable, legally compliant, and reliable cloud-based platform for sending and receiving SMS messages.

We will then complete the following tasks:

  • A. Number Acquisition → Guard IQ will acquire the standard 10-digit "long code" number to be used by your organization. If you have numbers already being used for your SMS, let us know!

  • B. Opt-out Management → Guard IQ will also provide a clear and easy way for recipients to opt out of receiving SMS messages (ex. by replying "STOP"). This is a legal requirement

  • C. Training → We'll get your team trained on how to use the system, including all the tips and tricks to get the most out of your SMS experience

  • D. Ongoing Support → Guard IQ will provide ongoing support, including training, troubleshooting, and assistance with compliance

SMS User Roles
  • Guard IQ will also help you set your user Roles for SMS

  • At first, a Supervisor-SMS Inbox will control Roles, update Inbox permissions, and add Users to the Inbox

  • However, you may wish to split responsibilities. For example, a Role like Team Member-SMS Inbox can be given permission to View and Update your inbox. This will let them activate and deactivate the inbox. It can also give them permission to answer inbound messages and add additional SMS Team Members as needed
