Adding Event Markers During an Event

In this scenario, Event Markers were left out when an Event Form was created. (This can happen when an Event Type is new to a venue – ex. a one-off Ice Skating Competition.)

Edit Form

you now have two options for Event Markers . . .
  • Continue without Event Markers! No records will be lost
  • Add your Event Markers during the event. It's never too late! (See the next 7 steps.)

Let's roll in the Event Markers:

  1. Click the Event Controller's Expand icon

    Edit Form

  2. Click the Pencil icon → found under Event Markers

    Edit Form

  3. Click the + box

    Edit Form

  4. Add your first marker → typically Setup or Pre-door

    Edit Form

  5. Enter a time for the first marker!

    • Pick the Calendar icon
    • Adjust the times → ex. Hour, Minutes, AM-PM
    • Click outside the Calendar to set the time

    Edit Form

Enter a start time for the first marker!
    • Tip 1 → Any Record created after the first marker's start time will be linked to the event so it can be filtered in your Records table and analyzed later
    • Tip 2 → Start your Setup or Pre-door markers for the approximate time your Event staff will arrive
    • Tip 3 → Set a generous initial start time. For example, Setup = 12:30 PM for a 5:00 PM start
    • Tip 4 → No need to enter times for the remaining markers! As you Advance markers, the current time is inserted for you
    • Tip 5 → Importantly, close out events by making sure all event markers have a date/time added. If you transition through all the steps in the event controller, this will happen automatically
  6. Click the + Box and add your 2nd, 3ed, and 4th markers, etc. → ex. Warmup and Prelims. (Add as many Event Markers as you need!)
