About Event Markers
Event Markers track the progress of an event. For example, a Hockey game's markers can be – Setup, Doors Open, 1st Period, 1st Intermission, 2nd Period, 2nd Intermission, 3rd Period, Overtime, Egress, Doors Closed
Simply click the Advance button to move period by period.
Some venues simplify their lists → ex. Pre-door, Doors Open, Start, Egress, Doors Closed The markers you deploy are up to you! For samples, see our Lists of Event Markers
- To save time, Shortcuts can be created to pre-populate the Event Markers for Event Types that repeat! In our example, the + Hockey Shortcut has 10 preset markers ready to go!
- For lists of commonly used event markers for a variety of evens, jump to our Lists of Event Markers for Every Occasion

-
Move to the next phase by clicking Confirm
Adding Event Markers During an Event
In this scenario, Event Markers were left out when an Event Form was created. (This can happen when an Event Type is new to a venue – ex. a one-off Ice Skating Competition.)
- Continue without Event Markers! No records will be lost
- Add your Event Markers during the event. It's never too late! (See the next 7 steps.)
Let's roll in the Event Markers:
-
Click the Event Controller's Expand icon
-
Click the Pencil icon → found under Event Markers
-
Click the + box
-
Add your first marker → typically Setup or Pre-door
-
Enter a time for the first marker!

- Adjust the times → ex. Hour, Minutes, AM-PM
- Click outside the Calendar to set the time
Enter a start time for the first marker!- Tip 1 → Any Record created after the first marker's start time will be linked to the event so it can be filtered in your Records table and analyzed later
- Tip 2 → Start your Setup or Pre-door markers for the approximate time your Event staff will arrive
- Tip 3 → Set a generous initial start time. For example, Setup = 12:30 PM for a 5:00 PM start
- Tip 4 → No need to enter times for the remaining markers! As you Advance markers, the current time is inserted for you
- Tip 5 → Importantly, close out events by making sure all event markers have a date/time added. If you transition through all the steps in the event controller, this will happen automatically
-
Click the + Box and add your 2nd, 3ed, and 4th markers, etc. → ex. Warmup and Prelims. (Add as many Event Markers as you need!)
